There are X6x/X6xs batteries on sale at the outlet - 4 cell and enhanced 4 cell.

Thank you!
I bought one. From what I've read, these are basically-new batteries that were returned by a previous customer - is that correct?
Seems like a good deal to me at less than 25% of the cost.

Ordered from The Outlet three batteries (2 x 4cell-prismatic and 1 x 8cell) over the past 1.5 years.
According to Power Manager, they have all had 1 cycle on them and were manufactured within the previous 4-6 months of receiving them.
They were also all cosmetically perfect.
The boxes said used, but the items were as new.
Seems like a much better deal than the eBay specials, you just have to catch them when the appear on the Outlet webpage.

They also have
X60T-X61T 4-cell battery for only $44. I would have bought immediately if I didn't have both 4 and 8 cell batteries... Not a good idea to stock on battery, you know...

I've heard that you can successfully store batteries much longer, under certain conditions.
Like charging up to only about 50% and then putting into the refrigerator.
Not sure if the above is even true or how much it extends the life of the battery...

Glad it helped a bit.
So, does it really take two weeks to process a shipment?
I don't really need it any sooner, just a little paranoid about the listed stock being sold and no CC charge or shipped product to speak of.
I understand it is slow, but this is remarkably slow.
So be it.

Wow. Apparently, all you need to do to make your outlet order show up is post impatiently online and talk about how slow it is.
Then it shows up in a couple of hours.
Cool.

I ordered a 4 cell X6 battery 1am PDT on Monday from the Outlet store. According to the inventory, it was the last one left. Right after I clicked the button to submit my order, it immediately returned to the catalog page and said there were none left. I thought that I was beaten out by somebody else even though I received an email confirmation about the order. An hour ago I got the email that it shipped.

What you state is true. The optimal numbers for storage are 40% charge at 40°F.

Finally received the X60 battery yesterday but it would have been in my hands a day earlier if not for the lack of somebody to sign for it on the first delivery attempt. Ordered on 7/19, shipped 7/21 (from NC) and at my house 7/26 via UPS 3 Day Select (shipping was included in the cost of the battery; $33 incl. tax). Power Manager reports full charge capacity at 34.17Wh, with a design capacity of 34.44Wh and 0 cycles. Sony battery pack manufactured in February of this year. Nothing seems to be out-of-place on the case; no scratches or marks at all.
