X61 Tablet Multi-touch Model Type Identification

Does anyone know how to tell if a tablet has a Multi-view Multi-touch screen
from the model type number? For example: Type: 1706-C9U.
I believe the info is in there if you know how the system works. I often see
tablets for sale on Ebay where the seller does not have a clue weather the
screen is finger touch or not.

Type: 1706-C9U is an X60. The only way that I know of to tell for sure that an X61T has a multitouch LCD is to look up the original parts list, then look up the LCD FRU# at Lenovo. You'll need the machine type and the serial number, then plug them in at the warranty site. On the following page click on parts list.

13N7233 is the X61T multitouch panel

Thanks for the tip. That will definitely help. Guess I better not buy the X60.
Still, I wonder if anyone has attempted to make sense of the machine type.
I was specing out some spark plugs for my car the other day, and found out
that someone had deciphered NGK's codes. For a BPR5ES plug, every letter
and number mean something. I think the Lenovo machine types have the
same kind of info in them.
