I know it has a 3gb limitation. Should I put 1gb and a 2gb or put 2x2gb even though there is a limitation. I'm fine either way. It's spare ram, I had lying around anyway.

What speeds are your RAM sticks?

You probably have the Core-Duo processor. 3 GB is just fine. You would not be able to access the 4 GB unless you have a Core-2-duo and 64 bit software. Windows 7 32 bit run great on the X60s.

true. I just thought matched pair of 2x2gb might be better than 2 and 1gb even though windows will only recognize 3gb.

Try them both...let us know how you like the best combination. I have done both and they seem about the same to me.

I'm running 1GB + 2GB without any problem. Even dual channel seems to be working
