Shouldn't my T40 Ultrabay battery fit the X61 Ultrabase?

I tried fitting my T40 Ultrabay battery into my X61s Ultrabase, but it does not quite fit. It goes in except for about the last 1/8 inch. It seems the same size as the DVD recorder/player.

I think the 40-series and 60-series may not use the same Ultrabay batteries even though the bays are otherwise compatible:
