Getting x6x series to output 1600x1200

#1 Post by codek » Wed Sep 29, 2010 4:22 pm

I noticed that others have been able to get their x6x to output a higher resolution with a bios mod for the SXGA mod. Is there a way to output 1600x1200 externally with a bios mod?

You don't need a BIOS mod for that. You should be able to output that resolution to an external monitor just by changing the display settings. I output my X60T to a 1600x1200 screen everyday. Does that resolution not show up as an option for you?

The mod you are talking about is very specific to outputting to a 1400x1050 internal LCD display after you transplant one of those SXGA+ displays from a an X60/X61 tablet over to an X60s/X61s. There should be no need for any BIOS modding to output your max screen resolution in any other scenario that I know of.
