X60 Tablet Recovery Files
X60 Tablet Recovery Files
I have just bought an X60 Tablet that has a newly formatted hard drive, thus I am unable to produce recovery media. Is there anyone out there that can point me in the right direction to get these files, or can either upload or PM me a link to download the partition image or the disk image for the recovery files. I have an XP COA. I can get them from Lenovo Australia, but that's an expensive way to get something that should be on the Tablet anyway.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Welcome to the forum, kiwiman!
Unfortunately, there is no way to legally obtain copies of the Recovery CD software for your X60 Tablet without either purchasing CD/DVD versions from a Lenovo reseller/e-Bay (or Lenovo itself) or by creating them from the system that should have been installed on your machine to start with. You may find someone who will offer to send you copies privately, but public distribution of these disks (like on this forum here) is not technically legal. If the person who owned your tablet before you did not create these disks before replacing the hard drive, then there is no way to get that installation back in order to recreate the disks.
A proper install should have included a recovery partition that would allow you to reformat the entire drive to return it to its original factory state and from there one could create such disks. But if you received the tablet without a working drive or without that recovery partition, then you're out of luck
I paid Lenovo Canada about $50 CAD (around $40 USD at the time) for my XP Tablet Edition SP3 disks (delivered) when I bought my used X60 Tablet.
