Hi there very much a newbie on here but have had a thinkpad in the past the T42which i loved before is suffered the cold solider issue so when i moved it, it would die but anyway.

I recently purchased a X60 tablet of ebay for a very good price and have been happily using it with no faults. But now i require more use of 3g and would like to have this function placed inside the machine. So i popped open the machine for a quick look and i seem to have the version with no sim card, one PCI slot and 2 antennas.

So i have been looking around for parts...
  • The first being a X6~ series motherboard with a sim holder and a second pci-express slot. Is it worth finding a x60 version or a x61 version as i have heard that the x61 will fit in a x60 case?
  • Which is the best recommend WWAN card for 3g in the UK?
  • I plan on acquiring WWAN atenna kit so i can install antenna for the wwan card in te tablets screen, i have experience with disassembling laptops a Lenovo have mad it easy to disassemble there laptops but how difficult would the installation be.
If any of you can answer these questions i would really appreciate it. Thank you for your Time. :)

Luke.

(Sorry if this has spelling or grammer issue, i do suffer from dyslexia :( )

The best deal would be to sell your machine and buy one with 3G already installed. Save yourself time and money.
