X60s battery stopped working

Hello,
I have a x60 notebook for almost 2y now, and an (new) 8-cell battery with it. It worked like a charm until now.
Today, I just unplugged my notebook from the wall and worked for some time, until it suddenly turned off. I was surprised, because my notebook was in the charger for an hour or two before that, and I spent like 10 minutes with wifi-on, writing text and reading articles.
Next think is, it didn't turned on. I plugged the charger in and it turns on, but won't charge the battery. Currently I'm in state (tested in linux and windows, both shows the same values:
- running from AC, battery plugged in
- ACPI/SMAPI thinks, that battery is 98% charged (43Wh)
- BIOS thinks battery is empty (battery LED is blinking)
- when I try to force discharge (or "reset gauge"), it just turns off instantly
- also turns off instantly when I disconnect AC power
I've tried to remove the battery during work, with all combinations of reset, it always shows the same. The charger seems to work fine. I also tried to reset bios settings. Nothing helped.
Have anyone of you noticed something like this? Is is battery or AC dead, or is it bios fault?
Thanks.
