X60s vs. X61s

I am trying to decide which of these two untraportables is the better one. I see that there are some discussions about this already on here but they don't seem to help. I would like to know which of the two would run cooler and would have better battery life. However the 3GB ram limit on the x60s seems to bug me. I thank you for your opinions.

Ya, I just snipped and won an x61s with X6 ultrabase for $333 in total. However I am expecting $70 tariffs at the boarder.

X60s has 5-10% better battery life, but obviously X61s supports 8GB vs 3GB of RAM which is a big difference if it applies to what you will do with the machine.

The one that I purchased unfortunately comes with a generic 8 cell battery. What battery do I have to get to see the X61 become thinner?

I have had good luck with the Lenovo Outlet and they often have x60/x61 batteries. I just checked and the site is down right now for maintenance. You might check later. Me experience has been that the generic, aftermarket batteries for x6 machines are junk and don't fit right. Many are incompatible with an x6 dock. All the "real" lenovo batteries fit and work better, whether they are 4-cell or 8-cell.

Ok, I will check that out. Which battery size would you recommend? Which one sees an X61s thinner?

The X60/61 4 Cell Enhanced Capacity Battery (40Y7001 2.6 Amp/Hr) does not stick out the back like the 8 cell battery but it stick out the bottom about a quarter inch. In my opinion this gives the keyboard a pleasant angle for typing.
The X60s/61s 4 Cell Slim Line Battery (40Y6999 2.0 Amp/Hr ) does not stick out the back and it is flush with the bottom case of the machine.

If you need a lot of battery, the 8 cell seems better. If you don't, get one of the 4 cells.
