Possible to replace the display panel of X61T-- orig XGA

Would it be as simple as just removing the display (the entire lid/display panel, not taking the LCD out of the lid or anything), and replacing it with one from a SXGA version?
I've got an extra SXGA "top part" and was thinking of just buying an XGA version X61T (the 1.8Ghz version, which wasn't available in the SXGA).
Thanks!

Ok-- to clarify, I'm trying to find an X61T (tablet) only because of the 1440x1050 SGA screen
(I've been using an X61s for years-- thanks by the way to threedaysrest/Bill).
I'm not up to the task of doing the SXGA LCD mod to my X61s, but if it were as simple as grabbing the screen/display half of a fried SXGA X61T (with the ribbon connector), and attaching it to a working X61T, then I could handle that.
Anyone know if that would work?
Any help appreciated.
Thanks

I'm not sure I understand, but if you wish to replace the entire screen assembly (panel, inverter, cables, etc)on an x61t that had an XGA screen originally with a similar SXGA+ screen from another X61t, it will work fine.
