X60 with sierra 8780;is it compatible? how do it?

hallo
i live in Italia and i have the internal sim card reader in my X60 ;
i would to install a sierra MC8780 that i found on ebay, but i listened that there are some issue of copatibility to use it; is it true?
if yes how can solve it? where to find the proper right software/bios update?
any other things to do?
