USB version on X60s

A friend has bought a Samsung cellphone. To sync that one with Outlook on his X60s he is supposed to use a Samsung software by the name of Kies. But it won't work.

When talking to their support they tell him his computer is too old and does not have USB 2. But I am quite sure it does. How can I prove that the USB ports are actually USB 2?

There are 3 USB ports on the X60s. Would there be any Chance/risk that not all USB ports are of the same speed?

Serial number seems to be 170255GL3ARxxx. I tried to find the manufacturing date for it on Lenovo's site, but the site says that is not the correct number.

Admin edit: Masked serial number

Warranty lookup on that system says the 3 year plan expired Jan 2010, which puts the manufacturing date around Jan 2007.

All Thinkpads from X31, T40 and R50 (?) onwards have USB 2.
The Samsung support is wrong.

Thank you for clear replies! I was quite certain already but needed some back up to
convince my friend not to take Samsung's excuse too seriously.
