Hi again,
did you seen any cpu-z or something that could confirm that he is really running this cpu unit in his x61?
YES! Unfortunately no cpu-z or other "put Your hand in my side wound".
Guy runned gentoo and ... we didn't had much time for smalltalk.
Don't get me wrong - I was a sceptic to... that's why i've recently posted here.
I thought that this mod came from here. Was little dissapointed though... that THAT GUY didn't participate.
Back to the case.
Answer to PM: After a while of digging it turns out that 965GM chip CAN handle this CPU - lik here(
http://ark.intel.com/chipset.aspx?familyID=28117 , on left tab:"COMPATIBLE PRODUCTS", followed by tab:"Processors").
Oh and please post on the board - just for others.
Seems to be possible, but will require soldering hardware and REAL soldering skills...
Guy said that his soldering was done in motherboard repairing facility in Poland (site:
http://pccenter.pl/ ) not sure when but the price he stated was

.
A friend called them for me so prices for today are just

59zl which is +/- about 20USD.
They did reball and solder processor to mb for that price.
Quite sure that there is lots of local companies that can handle it for about the same amount of cash.
AFAIK he modified his cooling system. Not sure how, but I'll know

.
I'll try to reach him on next conference and possibly take few photos (rule no.1 always cary a phillips screwdriver with you come in handy) if he allows

or not

.
I'll try to get his email or reach him in any other way faster than then.
Please tell us you got his contact details.
YA YA Like how could i forget? I was AMAZED by performance tests and more interested in hardware than its owner.
Could be more to owner if it would be a nice chick but HEY! You can't have it all right?
Definitely will contact him, definitely will know more, definitely will have one of those utill then
Anyone know a cheap x9000 supplier? Willing risk my beaty to have a beast.
