X6* Tablet as Touchscreen Jukebox/Media Player?

I am thinking about picking up a used X60 or X61 as a travel/second laptop. When not traveling, I thought it might do double duty as part of the stereo to play music and also be connected to the TV as a Netflix streamer. In this regard, I am wondering if anyone has used one of the tablets as a touchscreen jukebox, and if there is any reason it might not work? I'll use an external USB based soundcard.

One concern is that an Atom 1.6GHz computer can't quite keep up with Netflix, and the cheap-ish tablets seem to max out 1.6GHz. I understand that this is a different 1.6GHz than a netbook, but I am wondering if anyone has had luck doing something like this? The non-tablets seem to be available for not too much money up to 2.0Ghz, but then no touch screen.

The other option is to just use a quiet desktop and an Android tablet to control the stereo.

Not all X6x tablets come with FINGER touch, and it's not capacitive. It's resistive. What that means is you have to press HARD, and there is no multi-finger touch support.

You are also limited to VGA output - there is no DVI or any other output available, but it will have enough horsepower. Core 2 Duo 1.6 is ~4 times faster than Atom at the same clock speed.
