X61T - hinge covers

I am having some problem putting it back together. There is a larger hinge cover and the smaller one.

The issue I am having is that the big one just not clip into the small one, so it bounces up and not secured in.

Anyone know how?

But are you using the Hardware Maintenance Manual - ThinkPad X60 Tablet, X61 Tablet [ibm.com]? Those usually provide such details if you follow their procedures step by step.

I found out I bent a little tab on the inside.

The service manual didn't have much words just pictures and arrows. Oh well .... may see what is available at IBM/Lenovo or eBay, some hinge covers for other models are v expensive at $20US. A piece of plastic.
