X61 Tablet Mobile Broadband Help Please

Hi. I have an X61 Tablet [7767-B8G] running Windows 7 64bit, which I am trying to use with a Sim Data Card from Vodafone (UK). I have downloaded and installed all the drivers for this machine from the support website (including the Sierra driver) - none of which were rejected for not having the required hardware. However Mobile Broadband remains greyed out in the Access Connections control panel. Further, I can't see any device in Device Manager that appears to have anything to do with Mobile Broadband.
Should I therefore conclude that I do not have the necessary hardware (inc ariel) ?
If no - any suggestions please ?

If yes, can anyone advise:-
- where I can download a manual showing detailed instructions for dismantling (and correctly putting back together) the X61 Tablet ?
- where I can best obtain the required hardware ?

Hopefully someone else can provide some input here, but is the X61's interface card locked?

To OP: is that a UK machine?

How would I know or check if the card is locked ?
That's not something I was aware of.

I was just reading this post over at NBR. I think this may be the issue, which is why I asked where you got the machine.

Thanks for that. Had a look but I think my problem occurs before that. Access connections doesn't recognise there is anything there to "unlock".

Any idea about a manual showing how to open and replace cards and other stuff ?

Did you add a card and antenna? That model didn't come with wwan

Oops - I was under the impression this model did have a card and an antennae.

So..............any recommendation where I can best obtain them ?
