Hello everyone, I'm not a newbie but my old reg info was from Iceland and I cannot remember what email I used? the X61 screen has 3 wires going to the wireless/video/whatever card, the X60 has 2? I'm switching cards but there is a three wire connector that runs along the right side to almost the front and plugs into the motherboard, the wire colors are BLACK, BROWN & RED on a small plug that would accept 4 wires, it has a Intel chip next to it maybe an inch and a quarter by 2 with 3 black chips, the socket its plugged into is identicle to the one next to it, the part # is 08083N. on the X60 the slot next to where its missing is # 64NRA
The X60 has a spot for it but it appears its either intergrated/left out or I have no idea, I say this because the slot it would plug into is not on the X60 but looks as if it could have been an option? Lenovo support says for the X61 specs Custom Configured by customer without any more info. There is no where else I see to plug this WHATEVER???? in? Does anyone know what it is? the X61 model is 7762-CTO & the X60 is 6363-2AU, the X60 came as only the base from ebay and works fine to an external monitor.
Does anyone know what this wire connector with BLACK, BROWN & RED is for?

Thanks and any help will be greatly appreciated!
UPDATE: Ibm's hardware manual says the slot I don't have in the T60 is for WAN PCI express mini card or Intels Turbo Memory card?

I still need to know about the other wires and if these together will ever work?

Unless there was some sort of automated cleanup of inactive members then it shouldn't have let you use the same name. If you don't know the names of any admins I would contact BillMorrow, he runs the forum and should be able to help.

Its the username I've used almost exclusively since Al Bore invented this Information Super Highway, I wish I could find someone as concerned & dedicated with answering my question as you seem to over my username

If I'm a newbie, nobody or Osama Bin Laden its not worth discussing any further & I wish I never mentioned it, do you have an answer to the real question?

Check the X61T HMM in the section "Removing & replacing a FRU", sub-sections 1130, 1140, 1180.
Looks to me like it could be the Bluetooth wire.

It would be helpful if you could say where on the board, but I am guessing you are talking about the fan connector, on the underside of the board, right next to the fan. Some of the X6 machines have 4 pin connectors and 3-pin on the fan itself. The 3-pin will fit in. If I remember correctly, the 3-pin fan plug needs to go into the 4-pin motherboard connector toward the right side, if you are looking at it with the bottom of the board facing up, and the fan away from you

The wire runs from the center of the from within the screen, straight down 2", then to the right 4", and then forward near the wifi? chip7" and 1" left and plugs in there. I will try to upload pics

Are you talking about a tablet board? It sounds like the microphone cable that comes from the screeen bezel near the fingerprint sensor to the 4-pin jack on the right side of the board

Yes they are both tablets, I tried uploading pictures but I guess I need to put them on a webhost? I'll try.
Thanks for the info

That's definitely the microphone cable assembly.
See HMM page 81, chapter 1170 LCD Assembly and further.

It's a microphone cable, see page 81 HMM.
And there's no need to put the same pictures twice in this post (NOR in your other post).

Thanks for the info, I did post the pictures twice hoping someone would see them? You live and learn

Is there some way of connecting them somewhere on the X60 tablet motherboard?

The X60 (non-tablet) has a built-in microphone in the motherboard, the round silver thingie with the black 'top' in the bottom-right corner, SW of the USB ports.

Just ignore that mic-cable from the LCD, it's of no use to you in your concoction.

From what I have read turbo memory is only useful if you have a small amount of memory. If you have enough memory, adding it will not boost performance and can actually decrease performance because RAM is faster than the memory that turbo memory uses.
Furthermore, it can cause reliability issues such as intermittent BSODs and other errors.
