Do X61 come with Core Duos? Not Core 2 Duos.

Am I right to think that only systems from the X60 range come with the older Core Duos? And that with the X61 they moved on to the newer Core 2 Duos?

Later X60 units have Core 2 Duos, while all X61 machines were equipped with it.

Just won an auction for an X61 for unusually cheap, then read further at the description and realised that it said "Core Duo". Now is the nervous phase where I'd get to wonder if the seller made a mistake in the listing, this is some frankenstein unit, or something else!

Maybe he's right about the CPU and it's an X60 instead?

Yeah its either an X60, an X61 case with an X60 replacement motherboard, or an X61 and he's wrong. Let us know what you receive

It's a rare ebay seller that actually has 100% accurate info posted about a laptop for sale (and much other computer hardware as well). On the plus side sometimes this allows you to get a really good deal if the product is better than what the seller posted and other people didn't do the research to find it out. I'll frequently see directly-contradictory info posted about things like CPU speeds.
