£145/ $237 for a new battery............no way !!!!

#1 Post by paul*robertson » Sun May 08, 2011 2:48 pm

My 8 cell battery has just died on my X61. In power manager i clicked on the link for a new battery and was quoted the above price. Cycle count 279, made in 2006 by Sony.

What are my options, apart from paying full price from Lenova?

Do you know anyone who lives in the US? My experience with the Outlet batteries is that they are as good as new ...

I've never had a problem with the $35 Chinese ebay batteries. Funny too because my original IBM battery failed on me.

I believe the bottom one is for the X60/61s. It has an extra piece of plastic attached using the two screw holes visible on the top battery. By removing that you can use the same battery with the X60/61.

I found a new, genuine Lenova 8 cell for £49, sealed and boxed. Ebay where else.
