Screen question

I have seen many threads about replacing x6x tablet screens, but I couldn't find quite what I was looking for. As far as I have been able to tell, the HV121P01-101 is the x61t sxga screen, with the -100 model being the x60t screen. I understand that they use different digitizers(I have the G4) and that the screens should be compatible with one another. So, if I were to buy a HV121P01-101, it should fit in my x60t, correct? Also, I found a used x61t screen with cracked front glass for almost nothing, but I've read that it is almost impossible to remove without destroying the lcd + glass. I've changed many PDA and cell phone screens + digitizers where the digitizer was glued on the front, so should it be a similar experience? I'm hoping a screen upgrade will give my x60t a year or two longer life, so thanks in advance for any help

It's quite easy to remove the digitizer, just use a sharp utility knife (e.g. Xacto).
I did that with a comparable X41t LCD, took less than 5 minutes.

I'm pretty sure you guys are talking about two different things... the digitizer is a flimsy pad attached to the back of the lcd.. there is a protective layer on both the HV121p01-100 and 101, but on the 100 it is attached by pieces of glued foam to the bezel of the lcd, and on the 101 it is actually firmly attached to the face of the lcd.. i have no experience with the 101 and have never seen it so i don't know much more.. i was wondering whether heat applied to it could release the adhesive but i honestly have no idea from what i've heard the bond is quite integrated.. depending on how its bonded though, this might work.. i'm sure another more brute method would crack the lcd as they are very very fragile.. not sure how sensitive they are to heat.. i have a 100, and instead of removing the plastic from the bezel, i just entirely swapped out the lcd itself with the HT12x21 i was replacing.. by leaving the original digitizers and bezels and only swapping lcds.. good luck, if you figure out how to do it i would love to hear more

I was talking about the protective plastic sheet /layer on top of the LCD itself, on which you 'write' with the pen. That sheet/layer is glued along the edge of the LCD.
We're talking about the same thing, though the terminology might not be correct.
