X61 Tablet Pen input problem at the top of the screen

#1 Post by impala » Sun Jul 03, 2011 12:28 pm

Just got an X61 T from ebay. I couldn't find any other posts with this specific problem.

I'm very happy so far with the performance of win 7 64 bit.

Here's the problem... The Pen input works excellent everywhere except for a slim 1cm or less strip along the top of the LCD Screen. This strip stays in the same spot regardless of screen rotation. It seems to be worse in the corners...

I tried the monitor and pen drivers and the calibration as well. It just has a really hard time accurately recognizing the pen in this area. The pen doesn't line up with the indicator.

Has anyone else experienced this? I'm afraid it might be a hardware issue... Might loosening the screws on the screen near the top help?

Thanks

I tried another x61T and it definitely doesn't have the same problem...

Any other possible causes or solutions you guys may have encountered.

Thanks

It seems to be a hit-or-miss issue with these tablets, I remember having sent in for repair regarding the digitizer as well. It couldn't register at all, for about 1cm on one of the edges' center.

The accuracy near the edges may indeed inherently be bad though. Whether it affects you to the point that needs a repair job is something you have to decide.

Cheers.
