x60 Display Upgrade Options?

Is it possible to upgrade the stock x60s XGA LCD to something nicer? Are the options just the stock XGA display I have or the SXGA+ mod? Compared to my R500 the x60s display has a yellow tint, and it is a lot less bright. Which might be expected since the R500 is 200 nits and x60s 150 nits. Although I find it barely bright enough for indoor use. I don't know if it's LCD aging or the x60s display is supposed to be this bad.

The X60s used two different kinds of screens. Yours is the heavier and dimmer one (assuming it really is 150nit), and the other, called "UltraLight", is 180nit and a bit lighter. You can upgrade to that one. The part # for that is 13N7092 .
However, if I were you, I would sell this X60s and buy either an X60s or an X61s that already has an UltraLight LCD installed. The main reason is that an X6* preinstalled with an UL screen uses a thinner and lighter display lid. Also, swapping panels is a lot of work and you could damage something in the process. I swapped quite a few LCDs several years ago and really wouldn't want to do it ever again.

It is not possible to install an UltraLight screen in a non-UltraLight "top" -- LCD cable, hinges, cover, bezel are different, and will not accommodate the UltraLight LCD panel. Get an complete UltraLight "top" and swap tops ..or.. as suggested earlier, get a full machine which already has the UltraLight "top".
