I bought a used X60 when my T60 went down and I can't get the audio working. I've tried most everything I can thing of including update modules and new Max HD drivers but to no avail.

I've tried multiple HD's all with some version of XP on them but still no go

Any ideas?

Thanks

Could try a Linux disc just to see if it works.

Borrow another keyboard, maybe the Audio-Mute button (above F2) is permanently stuck.
Or the previous owner/you disassembled the laptop and forgot to reconnect the speaker?
Does an external speaker/headphone work?

I don't have the kind of friends that keep laptop parts hanging around and nobody loves me enough to let me remove their keyboard and install it on my lappy. I could experiment with a usb keyboard however I don't believe that would override the primary unless the primary was disabled in Devce Manager

and it goes without saying that F2 is in for a serious wiggling :x

Headphones didn't work off the unit or the base.

I'm a little sad that this post wasn't solved.

There are three silver buttons to the left of the blue Thinkpad button, the one farthest to the left controls audio
