Hi all!

I just bought a *genuine lenovo battery* for my X60 with ebay from china.
Turn out i have suspission it is not exactly genuine, even if the package looks dam convincing.

However, the manufacture date in the microcontroller says:
2004-01-01, which is pretty impossible .
Also, it says serial number: 1.
The rest looks much better though.

Second thing, when charging it the first time, it took 12 hours (from 20%) to charge fully and alternate between 40W (for 3 seconds), then 20W, 10W, 0W, then no charging for 1 minute, and again.
I dont know if this is because it is new or what.

I could however use it for 10 hours on battery without charging it at all, so the battery consumption seems fine, it holds 78.8Wh which is normal for a brand new battery, but the recharging is not so good.
The second charge seems to have the same symptoms.

SO my question is: did u notice it for the first charge? it is possible that because it is new, it behaves this way.
Or is it because there is another problem?
Of course, i may be srutinizing things to close because i have fear it does not work but it is the normal reaction of a new battery...

anyone could help?

also, i owned X40 and a X41, and i can say the battery i had so far in my X60 wear soooo fast (drop maximum charge) compared to my old batteries for X40s... On the other hand, it recharges faster too...
From what i can gather, it is what other people witnessed too...

I recently bought a 'refurbed' X60s battery from the Lenovo Outlet.
It came with 0 cycles.
Currently I am at 9 cycles, using it on a one-month trip to Europe.
With Brightness level set at 5, I also get around 10 hours out of 1 charge.
I normally charge overnight, and I never timed it, but my guess is less than 6 hours for a full charge (using the 90W/20V travel adapter).
BTW: that travel adapter is a huge pain in the butt in regards of the charger-to-laptop cable.
Way too bulky with that "blob" in the cable and that grey 20V adapter!
