changing fan RPM?

#1 Post by inogen » Wed Jul 20, 2011 4:04 am

I'm running TPfanControl on my x61 and it works fine.

The only improvement I'd make is so the fan levels had larger intervals in RPM.

At the moment, going from 0-1 in TPFC is a world of difference. 2-3 is negligible, 4-5 the same etc.

It'd all be much better if fan level 1 was 100 RPM or 50 maybe, not 3000!

I assume the RPM levels are set by BIOS? and are non user configurable?
