X60s - starting at 2.54lbs (Japan) or 2.69lbs (rest of world)
Why is that?

The Japanese X60s uses a 1.8" HDD. In Japan, Lenovo needed to compete with Sony, Panasonic, Fujitsu, Toshiba and Sharp, which had amazingly light laptops.

Here's the proof:

Microsoft Surface 3 (Atom x7-Z8700 / 4GB / 128GB / LTE)
Dell OptiPlex 9010 SFF (Core i3-3220 / 8GB / 8TB); HP 8300 Elite minitower (Core i7-3770 / 16GB / 9.25TB)
Acer T272HUL; Crossover 404K; Dell 3008WFP, U2715H, U2711, P2416D; Monoprice 10734; QNIX QHD2410R; Seiki Pro SM40UNP

Interesting, thanks. I wonder why today there are not more models with integrated ssd chips as the intel 80gb msata ssd available as standard or at least available as a model to market the product line with "weight starts from".

And these models also have Ultralight panels which are brighter and have a little less weight.

The UltraLight panel was available not only to Japan but also the rest of the world.
