Japan x60s models lighter?

Why is that?

The Japanese X60s uses a 1.8" HDD. In Japan, Lenovo needed to compete with Sony, Panasonic, Fujitsu, Toshiba and Sharp, which had amazingly light laptops.

Interesting, thanks. I wonder why today there are not more models with integrated ssd chips as the intel 80gb msata ssd available as standard or at least available as a model to market the product line with "weight starts from".

And these models also have Ultralight panels which are brighter and have a little less weight.

The UltraLight panel was available not only to Japan but also the rest of the world.
