AirPrime MC8790

#1 Post by jazzaddict » Tue Jul 26, 2011 9:39 pm

Hi Guys,

Don't mind me...Couple of questions here, any response is appreciated.
  • Is it working on Middleton/Zender BIOS?
  • How is the wireless performance when compare to F3507g/F3607g
  • Do I need to tape pin 20?
  • Is this fully compatible with Sierra Wireless Watcher Connection Management Software?
  • And finally where can I download the drivers and wireless manager software for Win7?
Many thanks!

Yes - I have tested an MC8790 late last year with the current Sierra Wireless Watcher utility software with no problems.

Sierra Wireless - Support+Dowmloads. - Please note this link refers to the Sierra Wireless Watcher utility software for the Sierra Wireless Compass 889, but is compatible with the MC8790 as both share the same Qualcomm MSM6290 chipset.

In theory the Middleton/Zender BIOS should get you around the whitelist and with Pin20 taped, the MC8790 should be recognised.
