X61T x64 OS: 6 or 8GB Max? DDR2 SODIMM 2x4GB Compatibles?
4GB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
DDR2 SO-DIMM 4GB - Backward & Forward Compatible Frequencies
I have X61T & T61 shown below. Will these DDR2 SO-DIMMs work in them?
Where can I find the best prices/ deals for these?

They should work, but will downclock. I usually find the best deals for memory used on ebay if you can wait it out for the right one. I picked up a 1gb stick for my X220i for like $6 on ebay.

Yes, they will work just fine both in your T61 and X61.
After having resolved the very same doubts, my T61 has 2x4GB modules (Hynix Part# HMP351S6AFR8C-S6) running since beginning of the year, and it simply works.
Bought them at German eBay auction
cgi.ebay.de/350304272568, which is still ongoing. Has some nice pictures too.

Any ideas where I could find a good priced 2 x 4GB DDR2 ? cause DDR3 is now so much cheaper than DDR2.

Hey,
Just a quick question about RAM. Does X61s memory chip support only frequency's of 667MHz? I have 800MHz modules installed, but they aren't running at their original speed.
Thanks for reply.

The X61/X61t RAM runs at 667 MHz (DDR2 / PC2-5300).
Faster 800 MHz RAM will also work, but only at 667 MHz.

To follow up on this thread. I got a pair of Kingston DIMMs from China through a friend from Taobao. Decent price lower than US.
Been using it for more than 6 months now.
