How To Turn Off The Wi-Fi Status LED

The Wi-Fi Status LED flashes on my x60 -- very distracting. Since I can tell from the desktop if I am connected this is completely redundant and I'd like to disable it. Any ideas?

(Besides black tape!)

Carefully remove the clearplate sticker, put a small piece of black tape over the WWAN indicator on the back of the sticker, then put the sticker back in place.

What is the clearplate sticker and how is it removed?

Use an exacto knife, grab an edge and peel - http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-IBM-Thinkpa ... 0532508720

OK thanks. I might wait until there is more light to try that!

Another alternative could be that you disconnect the signal pin on the PCI Express Mini card. It looks like it's pin 44 (WLAN)

It can be done by taping over the metal pad on the edge of the card or by cutting the trace leading up to it.
