X60s getting long in the tooth - what replacement laptop?

My X60s is about five years old. It still works great (I put in a cheap ssd drive). I like the size, etc, but it's got some physical damage that doesn't look very professional.
I generally like other thin laptops out there, like the Macbook Air and the Vaio, but I don't think I can live without the TrackPoint. I just happen to hate trackpads, and prefer to leave my hands right on top of the home keys.
My use case is basically netbook level - Internet, MS Office, and some video watching. The 1.6 GHz dual-core I have now does this fine.
So my question is, given that I like the X60s, what is the modern equivalent? The X1 or the X220? Should I just get a used X60s in top physical condition?
I do plan to do my own research, but I'd love to see if any of you have recently switched and what your thoughts are.

I just rejuvenated my old 4-year old X60. I ended up buying a X61 CTO base with motherboard. It was an easy task, just pop over the LCD, wireless card, memory, hard drive etc. But my Windows 7 32bit isn't loading from the same HD, so I need to reinstall windows -- I expected things would be similar enough to allow me to boot right off the old image, which turned out not to be the case.
I plan to top up the machine to 8GB (now that it is a 64bit cpu).
The 4-year old X60 case was really falling apart, cracked in several places, IR long lost, and bazel along both left and right literally missing. The fact the motherboard I got off ebay included the base case allowed me to essentially refresh the entire machine

I'm hoping to get a few more years out of it.
I really do love the X series, in particular the X6x line. I did buy a Sony P series last year as an ultra-portable. It has a built in trackpoint -- the trackpoint has ruined me for mouse/trackpad, and every computer I use, I always sport it with the USB Trackpoint keyboard. The Sony P series it really a netbook, but the resolution is amazing (1600x800) in a 8" screen. You can't beat that resolution. The lackluster resolution in the X60/1 is the only thing that disappoints me.

Or just replace the broken/missing X60/X60s parts, cheaper than buying another laptop.

I just went from an X60s to an X201 and I love it. A little lighter, a little cooler, great keyboard also with both trackpoint and trackpad. You should be able to find a used X201, many still under warranty.

The X220/X220i or the X200 are your perfect choices, the former is more powerful and cost a little more with the IPS, if you are short on cash then get the X200. I would avoid the X201 with the first generation i Core CPU.

How about the i5-540M CPU in X201? Any problem with them? Or is this gear toward a specific i3 CPUs? Just curious.
Thanks.

The X201 i5 cpu does run a tad hot.
