Forum themes

#1 Post by Quardah » Sun May 24, 2015 12:58 am

Hello!

Feel free to move this thread if it is not in the right section.

I would like to know if there's a way (couldn't find any) to change the forum theme. I browse at night and the white theme is very intense.

If there is no way, maybe someone knows how to implement this feature!

Many thanks!

There is no such option.
But you could darken your screen in the evening or at night.

"BYM" for Firefox, or "hacker vision" for chrome/chromium are "night mode" extensions/add-ons. The former is very light on cpu, but the latter uses a better algorithm, so it may cause noticeable lag depending on what websites you view.

I am currently trying BYM and i have to say it delivers very decent results. I think I'll stick with this.

Thanks!

It's been awhile but I used the chrome extension 'Stylish' which would color schemes to sites.
There isn't one theme specific to the TP forum, but there were a few dark/nighttime themes made for other phpbb websites
It is just a matter of editing the coding on the theme (e.g. from edcforums.com to forum.ThinkPads.com)

Some were crafted well and others were not, some weird stuff happens with the avatars from it and when we use different font colors in our posts/signatures it doesn't override it.

Yea well what i really meant was the color scheme. I really like high contrasts configuration and i personally prefer white text on a black background, and it permits to use more color for text.

It doesn't really matter after all but if there's a way to add this to the user control panel i believe some people would enjoy.

Thanks

There are countless themes that could be added to this forum, but it's up to the Admin(s) to decide whether to do it or not.
