Hi All,

Several weeks ago I noticed a new message notification show up in the form of (1) in all my Chrome tabs pointing at the forum:


Since then I checked everything I could possibly think of, such as PM, all threads I've ever posted to, all threads I'm subscribed to, logging out and back in, logging in using a different browser, clearing cookies but it still won't go away. How do I find out what's keeping it on and clear it?

Whenever there's a new message in any of the threads I'm subscribed to or a PM in my inbox, the number in brackets increments accordingly, and goes back to 1 once I read it.

Try and close all TPF tabs, then open just one, still showing (1)?

Try another browser, such as PaleMoon.

Just tried - no difference. Tried Chrome at a different laptop - still no difference.

Just tried both IE11 and Chrome on a yet another laptop - still no difference... could it not be something at the server side?

Have you READ your PM?

Hmm I thought "Private messages [0]" implies that I have... there are none in my Inbox at all anyway: I had previously moved them all into Saved folder. Just checked it and none of the 85 messages in it are marked unread (yellow).
