(Company + Individuals): Strategies to Mitigate Cyber Security Incidents

#1 Post by RealBlackStuff » Tue Feb 07, 2017 9:40 am

Block adverts, delete Flash, kill Java: ASD

Some very important information on how to keep your computing safe:
http://www.zdnet.com/article/block-adve ... l-java-asd

They refer to the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD), who published this:
https://www.asd.gov.au/infosec/mitigationstrategies

Very important:
When first published, research showed that at least 85 per cent of targeted intrusions could be defeated by just four simple strategies: application patching, operating system patching, minimising the number of users with administrative privileges, and using application whitelisting to prevent unapproved programs from running.

Ignore at your own peril!

Useful information, it's getting harder to prevent cyber attacks on one's systems, I always use adblockers, ublock origin and use a seperate less popular browser for business and only business, no causual websurfing on it.
