Prevent automatic shortcut creation for Bluetooth devices

After updating the Bluetooth software on my T400 recently, I discovered that the new Bluetooth software would create a device shortcut on my desktop and in the Start menu for every device I connected. I couldn't find a way to turn off this feature using the Bluetooth settings (did anyone else?), but I did find a registry key to disable it.
