Hi everyone,

i get my Thinkpad W520 nearly 99% working, but i have a little cosmetic problem. I use AppleSmartBatteryManager.kext and iStats is show me this:

and

Image

Looks fine, but the cycle count is all the time "0". I found the problem also in some Linux-Forums, but no solution. Any ideas how to enable the cycle count? I found this on insanelymac: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index. ... pic=264597 but since its a HP-Laptop i can't find the SMBus read and write (SMRD() and SMWR() ) stuff on the ThinkPad. Or anything with SmartBattery Manager? Im no DSDT-Pro but i hope someone can help.

If you need help with your W520 feel free to ask. Here is my Guide (German i know): http://thinkpad-forum.de/threads/126044 ... nkPad-W520

With google translate: http://translate.google.com/translate?s ... 20&act=url

Here is my DSDT: https://rapidshare.com/files/3976779498/dsdt.aml.zip

Hi Goth*;
sorry - i got SAME ISSUE also - but since I also use Linux AND Windows 7x64 on SAME W520 ( 128GB raid0) plus intel 320Series SSD (600GB) for storage/other apps ....

Most things work in OSX for me and things like Battery = dont matter much to me - as I know I can look after that via Win7. AS a side note - not sure which battery you have - but there is a Lenovo BATTERY FIRMWARE UPDATE - from memory i saw that during SYSTEM UPDATE.

sorry not much help -
Cheers

Hi,

thanks for your reply. I have a HDD with Win7, i will try to update the complete system with it later today (6 Cell battery here). I also don't think it will solve the problem, but lets give it a try ;).

EDIT: No Update was shown -> still same error.

:P Just follow my guide and be happy. After a Systemupdate for example you need to edit kext(s), .budles... again so... i don't think you will be happy with a HD Copy.

Almost complete stable, only after reboot (about 1 of 20) i get a KP (don't know why), but i don't reboot OS X very often just standby.
And the battery life on Lion?
99% in Dockingstations, so i really don't know.
Also that wireless card you got is that a lenovo wireless card which came in your W520?
No, OS X don't have driver for the Intel Centrino 6300 so I'm using an Atheros 9821 and a BIOS without Whitelist.
