the windows 7 drivers are generic drivers or did you find them on dell support site?

Hi rzamz, Do you know whether Patched 1.39 works for both Wireless card and WWAN card or only for Wireless card?

appreciated for further information.

--- installed Patched 1.39 ----
Dell DW1510 is working. I put Lenovo Sierra Mc8355 Gobi 3000 inside, that does not require whilte-list remover. so it is also recognized, I will put Mavericks 10.9.3 on my x220

My DW 1515 just arrived and happily report that is working nice out of the box on all my 3 OS's.
Currently running 10.9.1. and thinking to upgrade to 10.9.2. Does anyone have experience upgrading it with the combo update, run normally with the os x installer and before reboot install all drivers again like after normal post install?

Anyhow, I purchased the Dell 1515 wireless N and installed on the X220. However, the laptop stop working cuz the bios doesnt recognize the wireless chip. Is there a working, verified, way to approach this? a safe bios?
If there is a bios that I can flash, will it work on an OSX cuz I am running Mavericks now

Has anyone got the DisplayPort to work?
Mine can connect to the TV with DisplayPort to HDMI cable. The Video works, but No sound

Thank you in advance
Picked up this card, but had a heck of a time finding the whitelisted BIOS. Here ya go:

www.plymptonia.com/thinkpad/Modified_WL.rar

Confirmed it works on (one of) my X220's. I'll keep it at this URL until the end of days.

Has anyone successfully updated to 10.9.3 with this process? I keep running into power management kernel panics, and haven't found the root cause yet.

Finally figured it out, and everything appears to be working except:
1. SD Card slot (no biggie)
2. CPU won't go down below ~ 1.3 GHz according to sensors. :-/. Hmm. It does turbo-boost, however, which wasn't happening before (though it was going to 800 MHz)
3. Resume from power-outage doesn't appear to work (sleep/hibernate, pull battery, boots normal, not resume from Hibernate. Not sure how it's supposed to work.)
4. Sometimes the trackpad/pointer and/or keyboard doesn't work on boot. Not sure why
5. iCloud sign-on doesn't work - had to fix this on my Desktop, forgot what it was at the moment

Works:
[*]Sound (VoodooHDA) - both Speakers AND microphone
[*]Turbo-Boost (3.2 GHz - zooom)
[*]Graphics
[*]Wi-Fi (Non-whitelisted Dell Card with non-whitelist BIOS 1.39)
[*]Sensors (though I'm not 100% confident in their readouts)
[*]Sleep & resume (yeah!)
[*]Bluetooth
[*]Webcam

I ordered a 120GB mSata drive and will re-install on my i7 machine and report back.

Upgrade to 10.9.4. exception SD card reader.
All other works,
Sound, Bluetooth, Webcam, Wifi, Graphics Acceleration, Trim (need to redo it from command line, Chameleon SSD optimizer does not work on 10.9.4), Sleeping, CPU Throttling (P-State), Fan cooling, USB 3.0 connection.
External Monitor via Display Port or VGA -- not tested.

Using 1600Mhz 8GB DDR3 (not 1333MHz) RAM, Geekbench 64-bit goes up to 7918.

So far so good with my i7 2.8Ghz X220 - Samsung mSATA EVO 120GB SSD with Mavericks 10.9.4 and Samsung PRO 128GB SSD with Windows 8.1. The best machine in Thinkpad series. no way to go further with X230, X240 unless someone find the practical solution with NWL bios!

Thanks a lot for the great tutorial. I spent some time and I figured out how to get the SD Card to load.

You need to use 1180, e823
For the pci and vendor IDs (don't know which one is which) in VoodooSDHC.kext. Using 1180,823e did not work for me.
I'm attaching the kext file so it's easier to download and install. I used kext wizard to install the kext file.

Yes, 1180:e823 is the correct value to update VoodooSDHC.kext.
The problem is-
VoodooSDHC.kext works well under Mountain Lion, but hanging under Mavericks for x220
Even I recompile VoodooSDHC.kext under Mavericks from the latest source code with Apple latest XCode!

So I'm new to this. I have a mavericks 10.9.4 dmg from the app store.

Will the guide posted in the first page work for it or do I have to get an 10.9 image and go through updates?

Im planning a fresh OSX install on a 256gb msata dual booting with a already working win7 SSD.

Thanks

Could you post your DSDT and /Extra/Extensions files?

Does it matter to use active or passive display port cable - I use passive display port cable now.

I got it working :D

Followed this: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/ ... -for-1095/

Grabbed his files, tried to follow his instructions, kinda cryptic, but he linked to the guide for the t420 to install yosemite, plus his files for x220. I followed that guide, even used all the same files for the t420 and it all worked for install. In the post installed, I used most of the files from the first guy, except dsdt since I have the i7, conveniently in the zip for the t420 there was a script that generated one for me and even copied it to the right spot and everything.
So yeah, that all works, sound, sleep, cpu throttling looks good as hwmonitor reports, osx says 5+ hours for battery, sleep works, brightness controls. Only thing that seems to be broken is bluetooth, I thought I saw someone post a fix with proper product ids and stuff, still need to find it.

That's awesome! I tried myself following the t420 guide. Got the first and second part of the install but can't get it to boot from the ssd afterwards.

Any tricks or settings you used besides what was in the t420 guide? What version of clover did you use? I couldn't find the version in the guide so I used the latest and didn't work.

Clover_v2k_r2976.zip, which I think is the latest. I really didn't do anything different from the guide from what I remember. Went through install, it rebooted twice I before it was done, then installed clover copying all the settings in the screenshot, then I just copied the efi partition from the usb drive. Installed the kexts, ran ssdtPRGen-clover.command from the zip and had it copy it to the right place. Didn't do the ethernet install, didn't think I'd need it. Sorry, I didn't document everything very well, didn't actually think it would work, having tried multiple times to get mavericks working properly and failing.

Oh and bluetooth does work, it was trying to pair with a bluetooth speaker, it was still bugging me about missing keyboard/mouse, so I didn't think it worked.

Yeah, I grabbed all the files. Like I said, I couldn't use his dsdt/ssdt since he had the i5, and I have the i7, I used the config.plist from the t420 I think, 1366x768 one obviously, same with the acpi folder. Used all the kexts, using the newer ones. Yeah it took a while to install, even on ssd, but the guide mentions that it will look like it stalls when it says less than a minute left.

Did you have to manually copy the /ESP files from the USB stick to the HDD? (IE: Mount /dev/disk0s1 EFI partition and copy the Clover stuff?) The Clover installer isn't doing that for me, so I'm assuming that I have to do it manually (testing now, but verifying with you)

Did you use the pmpatched x220 bios? I'm only running the whitelist BIOS right now.

Thanks!

To answer my own question, yes, you need to mount the /diskXs1 and copy the Clover files directly there in order for the X220 to boot - once I did that, everything went swimmingly. Even recognizes my USB 3.0 card without any fidgeting. Amazing!

Only thing I haven't taken care of is the iMessage validation, since this is my "spare" X220, and I'll just use this experience to get my real i7 X220 up and running in Yosemite.

My trackpoint is a bit fidgety, though - sometimes it double clicks when I single click. Any advice there?

Thanks for all the help!

Is this what you are looking for?

that was simple

Product ID: 0x217F
Vendor ID: 0x0A5C

Convert the hexadecimal values to decimal with searching in google. like '0x217F in decimal'. In my case it's:

Product ID: 8575
Vendor ID: 2652

Now open Finder, choose Go/Go to Folder and paste this location:
/System/Library/Extensions/IOBluetoothFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/BroadcomBluetoothHostControllerUSBTransport.kext/Contents/

Then open the file 'Info.plist' in editor and scroll down to the bottom of the file. I added this block:

<key>ThinkPad x220 Bluetooth</key>
<dict>
<key>CFBundleIdentifier</key>
<string>com.apple.iokit.BroadcomBluetoothHostContr ollerUSBTransport</string>
<key>IOClass</key>
<string>BroadcomBluetoothHostControllerUSBTranspor t</string>
<key>IOProviderClass</key>
<string>IOUSBDevice</string>
<key>idProduct</key>
<integer>8575</integer>
<key>idVendor</key>
<integer>2652</integer>
</dict>

Just by replacing idProduct 8575 and save the Info.plist solved the problem after reboot! Don't forget to rebuild kext cache

Bluetooth on/off with x220 hackintosh on mavericks now works
