t61p not booting on ssd

#1 Post by ttslas » Sat Jun 07, 2014 9:30 am

Hi there,
I have installed mountain lion to my t61p on internal HDD. Everything is working fine.
I wanted to upgrade and I bought a ssd Kingston.
I have upgraded my BIOS with Middleton version by the way.
When I put the ssd inside my thinkpad, it is not seen by the osx installer.
So I put it in an external enclosure working with USB. And then it works well.

I have finished installation without problem. I am using some dsdt I found on this forum.

Thinkpad boots on USB but when I put the ssd on data port inside. It does not work!

Any idea?

Thanks for your help.

Welcome to the forum!

While I can't help you with the OSX aspect of the story, I do have two questions:

1) When the SSD is installed in the main HDD bay, is it visible in BIOS?

2) What SSD are we discussing here to begin with?

My ssd is a Kingston v300.

It is seen by BIOS.

But for example, the osx installer does not see it at first. After I install osx on USB mounted ssd, then it is recognised by boot loader.
