The sidebar on the right side of
the guide has the status of updates. It indicates "OS X 10.10.5 Update – installs with no issues"

Thanks. My apologies. I've been reading lot of Thinkpad Hackintosh threads after a few years of being out of touch with OSX86 stuff and missed that.
Where does the x230 stand wrt 10.10.5? If you can guide/ link me to a relevant knowledgebase I'd appreciate it. Thanks again.

I'm pretty sure the 10.10.5 update should work as well on the X230 as the X220. The guide here indicates most things are working on the X230 under Yosemite (although they don't specifically mention 10.10.5):

There's a guide to install OS X 10.11 El Capitan on the X230 here that also seems promising:

The author rebranded an Atheros wifi card to make it appear as as an Intel 6300 to get around the BIOS whitelist.
There appears to be some progress on coming up with a software-only method to install a whitelist-free BIOS on the X230. More on that is available here:
http://www.zmatt.net/unlocking-my-lenovo-laptop-part-3/
and here:

Hope this helps a bit!

I've got OS X running quite nicely on a T420, now thinking of getting an X220t to go with it.
I see that most of the stuff works, and I already went through replacing the WiFi card on my T420, but I'm wondering about the touch part - would the touchscreen, or, more importantly, the pen function? I found some information about it, but it's years old, so I have no idea what the situation is like today.

Hello all and thanks for getting things working.
I've got the outdoor model of X220t (no multitouch) running really good (special thanks to tluck and johnmcdonnell) in Yosemite, my reason for getting this computer was the wacom pen and in Mavericks I found out after extensive research that the wacom driver PenTablet_521-3 (
ftp://ftp.wacom-europe.com/pub/Mac/cons521-3_int.dmg) is working perfectly with calibration and assigning useful shortcuts for the penbutton. In Yosemite the driver is working as before but the pref pane is sort of working in 32 bit mode only without the possibility to assign menus. So I would recommend to get everything working in Mavericks and backup the preferences for later and import them after upgrading to Yosemite or El Capitan. It's quite easy to edit the preferences with a texteditor for corrections in the popup-menu and other adjustments. Well do keep in mind that I got this driver working with the non-multitouch model and I do not know if it's working on the multitouch as well.
If anybody got other experiences with working drivers for the pen or touch I certainly would be interested to know.
Other than that bluetooth looks a lot like it's working but refuses to connect to anything but my old x61, audio also needs a bit convincing when shifting to headphones.
In Yosemite the console first got flooded with ATHR unknown locale-errors but I sorted it out following this guide
http://www.tonymacx86.com/hp-probook/97 ... m-mod.html .
All in all it's a great computer.
