Mavericks on a Macbook with El Capitan?

A friend of mine has an older Macbook with Mavericks and a newer Macbook that came with El Capitan.
She wants to run the music program Sibelius on the El Capitan machine, but that doesn't work (it works on Mavericks).
Question: can you transfer/install Mavericks onto that El Capitan machine?
I have no Mac model-names (yet), just inquiring.

May be
this will help? I don't know per se but may as well give it a try if everything is backed up.

If said newer MacBook came (new) from factory with El Capitan loaded, then: no, Mavericks will not run on that MacBook, at least not without major motivated reverse engineering and modification of 'copyrighted code'.
If 'newer MacBook' is an old model, if your friend got it second-hand or from a refurbisher, then: maybe,
consult this table. (Said table was
located here 'Mac OS X versions (builds) for computers' 'http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT1159', until recently. Of course Apple took-down useful information. Why would their 'support' Web site be supportive? Customers do not deserve facts, they must not be allowed to use information as tools to help emselves. They are to be confused and frustrated, and to be given no choice but to spend money.)
If 'newer MacBook' is too new to run Mavericks, then virtualisation might be an option. I have no first-hand experience, I have no idea how easy/difficult/pain/joy it is to virtualise Mac OS X for ICBM.
