x1300 OSX Support?

#1 Post by kulivontot » Sat Jul 15, 2006 4:03 pm

Hey guys, I've searched both x86project and thinkpad here and I've been unable to find any definite answer on whether or not there is driver support for Radeon X1300's. I've found support for x1600/1800's, and apparently the FireGL cards, but x1300 appears to be inconclusive. Anyone else come up with anything else?

With the announcement of the new apple Xserves, I noticed the following.
The fifth-generation Xserve is packed with features designed to meet your needs. Powered by the dual-core Intel “Woodcrest” Xeon processor running at up to 3.0GHz, this quad-core 64-bit system delivers performance up to 5 times (1) faster than the Xserve G5. For flexible storage, there’s support for both SATA and SAS — and up to 2.25TB of internal capacity. Internal ATI Radeon X1300 PCI Express graphics is included with a mini-DVI output with VGA support. Dual redundant power supplies gives extra piece of mind. And you can control it all from across the hall or around the world, thanks to integrated lights-out management hardware and powerful, easy-to-use software.
There's now an actual apple machine with an x1300, so the possibility for a working driver for those of us with this card is now a lot better. Now we just need someone to gank the driver off one of these new machines.

Hi, it seams like the only thing I miss in my system is the x1300 drivers.

Any news when the software fore xserve is going to be released?

PS I looked in the ATIRadenX1000 kext from the 10.5 beta and its seams to have support for X1300 card. But the drivers from 10.5 doesn’t work with 10.4 kernel

There are some new ATIRadeonX1000.kext from the Macpro.

More info here http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=25111

I did some test but haven’t got it to work with may T60/X1300.
The ATIRadenX1000.kext loads ok but when I reboot the screen turns black but it don’t crash.
