OSx86 - Lenovo C100 - Fullyworking

Just a quick post to say that my C100 runs OSx86 like a charm.

The biggest problemis getting the initial install done, the stock DVD drive refuses to boot the installer.

The work around is to use a 2.5 - 3.5 Hdd converter and install the OS in another PC or put the 2.5 Hdd in a different laptop that will boot the install DVD. Failing that it is also possible to install to partition using VMWare (set it so it uses a whole physical partition rather than virtual disk files).

Once installed my stock broadcom WiFI needed a little prod to get it working, everything else was up out of the box - Audio, Bluetooth, GMA900 with full acceleration.

How about sleep? My understanding is that it's the tough nut on most non-Apple hardware.

Sleep is fine without any modification.

Interesting, just wondering why it doesn't seem to work on any of the T & X models. What exact version of OSX did you install?

10.4.6 - HotISO with JaS patches -

Base system decrypts - SSE2 Decrypts + GMA900 support

Also now upadated through 10.4.7 to 10.4.8 (JaS releases)

Thanks, I also installed 10.4.6 HotISO (on my X60s). How do you apply the JaS patches to an HotISO install? Is the process documented somewhere? Sorry if the question is very basic.

OK, I haven't installed any of the above (video worked OK on my X60s with the stock 10.4.6), but I understood the GMA900 patch is required if one moves on to 10.4.7.

I see, you've the latest everything! Maybe this is what made sleep work on your Lenovo! Let's hope I can achieve the same on my X60s, because lack of sleep support is a severe handicap on a laptop.

Thanks again for your help! Dominique

The patches are applied during the initial installation,

you select customise rather than just clicking continue and then select the base system, either SSE2 or SSE3 and GMA900 patches from the list.

I can confirm that sleep is working on the X60s under 10.4.8.

Sleepless in almost everywhere

Has anyone else got sleep working on an X60 (or any other model of thinkpad) ?

Please let us know how!

I presume that that is 10.4.8 with new kernel?

OSX can also be installed on a virtual VMware disk. I just did that with 10.4.6 (HOTiSO) on my X60s, using VMware 5.5.3 build 34685.

I have exactly the same problem on a new T60. I've got everything else working, but it's not usable to me without sleep.

The ACPI hardware seems to go to sleep correctly.

Best I can tell, it's the video card driver that is blocking full sleep support on systems with discrete (non-intel) graphics chips.

For example, when I put my T60p to sleep, the hard drives spin down, but the monitor and video card stay up.

My T60 has GMA video, and the video hardware turns off fine. I just get the 0192 error when trying to resume.
