acquiring OSX

#1 Post by georgeb » Thu Feb 01, 2007 12:14 am

with XP, some people -- not i, no sir mr. gates sir, not i -- have been known to use the same system discs to install it on multiple computers.

i'm not encouraging copyright violations or anything but let's say in a situation where one wanted to *try* OSX out on a system that may or may not handle it -- let me put this delicately -- how do people acquire OSX for such purposes? is it similar to XP in that sense?

I've heard of (and experienced) OS X fully installing and updating itself online, on more than one system, without any problems. It's apparently not the problem it is with MS.

Having installed the same version of OS X on several different machines, I can confirm that Mac OS X does not require the license code that Windows does.
