Rebuild hidden partition

#1 Post by qazthinkzaq » Sun May 27, 2007 2:12 pm

Hi,
I'm planing to repartition my hdd.
Delette all then rebuild - i wont to install OS X :)

I red the software guide and theri is 2 scenarios to install rescue and recovery with hidden partition and without it.

So my question is - Do i need to create this partition manuali?
During the installation it will ask me what partition to use for service?

Is there samo articl about it?

Will be very greateful for ani information

Best regards

Check the OSX on thinkpad forum, but as far as what you are asking, if I can understand you want OSX, and still have the HPA on your machine. This is possible but you will need to create your partition for OSX and leave the HPA intact, however the possibility of booting into the HPA from OSX is about zero.

Sorry if i cant ask it properly.
Let sai this way.
Ih i have a new HDD.
I made primari partition C, primari partition D and logycal partition E this far everithing is OK :)
But i wont to use Rescue and Recoveri.

Do i need to create service partition manuali or during installation of Rescue and Recoveri will ask me and create the partition automaticali?

Where do you want to install OSX? Create a partition for it, leave everything else as is.

I think I see what you are saying, if you created these partitions chances are you wiped out R&R, you need to start from scratch, reinstall to factory, create a partition for OSX and install it there. Installing OSX will effect your MBR and if you ever want to use the HPA you will probably have to do the MBR fix.

I'm moving this topic to the OSX forum.

It's hard to discern exactly what you are saying, but I think you want to install windows with the HPA correct? You'll need the IBM recovery CD's to do that :)
