help getting Wireless on/off on osx using atheros (40Y7026)

Hi, all i have an ibm T60 with the following specs

Hacintosh CPU: Intel Core Duo T2400 1.83GHz @ 1.83GHz [SSE3/PAE/XD/VMX/EST/DualCore] L2 Cache: 2048K FSB: 667MHz RAM: 419.3MB/2.0GB Virtual: 0.00M/64.00M Disk: 18.25GB/111.47GB Display: GMA 950 [64 MB of shared system memory/QE/Stock] 1024x768@60Hz OS: Mac OS X 10.5.1 (9B18) Kernel: Darwin 9.1.0 Build: BUILD i386 Build Date: Fri Nov 16 14:50:43 SCT 2007

Everything works accept last three things
Wireless i purchsed the ibm 40Y7026 (added the plist line osx detected it like a charm even showed my mac address i took off the sticker before putting it inside just to verify) but it says the radio is off.. i tried turing the switch on/off and turning the software radio on no go.. so i was wondering if ne one here had the same problem that i am having if so please help thanks
Battery icon for powermangement.kext (tried like 6 diff kexts none worked although it worked fine in uphuck 10.5.0
FN+brightness increase /Decrease (does not work for me yet the led back light and most other keys function fine) if ne one knows a fix that would b great.. ( i also get tearing with the mouse) errk..

Am currently using kalway 10.5.1

When you boot into Darwin, hit a key when it says "press any key to enter startup options".

Then enter: "-f" (without quotations) and start the boot process.

I experienced the same problem after replacing my Intel a/b/g wireless card with the Atheros. After booting with with "-f" I could finally turn on the wireless radio in OS X 10.5.1 (using Kalyway).
