What do I need to do to get OS X on my T60-2008?

#1 Post by iThinkiAmBen » Sat Feb 09, 2008 4:46 pm

So, I am very interested in going hackintosh. My problem is that I am not very good at following vague directions.

So, what exactly do I need to do to get it on there? What should I download? How do I install?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
ben

Use http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/Main_Page and http://forum.insanelymac.com/ as your starting points. There are lots of great guides and tons of info, so read over those as much you can before you actually try to install.

So, the Kalyway disk is downloaded. The ISO and stuff is there, but I can't unzip it-- it gives me an error. I have tried ZipGenius and the built-in one. Any ideas?

The ISO has to be burned to a DVD as an image. This can be done with any burning program (Nero Burning ROM, Ashampoo Burning Studio, etc.)

Make sure you do not simply drag and drop the file onto a DVD, it has to be done through the "Burn Image" option (or something similar to that.)

I know. when I try to unzip the big file with everything in it it says "the file is either invalid or corrupted."

Oh I've forgotten about the zipped version - many people have trouble opening it for some reason, they said it only works if you use WinRAR. If that doesn't work, you might want to re-download the actual ISO.
