IBM T60 (Running XP Pro) // Want to dual boot with Leapord

Hi guys,

New member here

I need you help with installing leapord on my T60 machine. My machine is a 2 GHz Intel Duo processor with 2GB Ram and 100GB HD. My T60 has no fingerprint reader if that helps.

Basically I want to achieve this :

Currently I am running XP Pro on the machine (for school).

I want to Install Leapord on it with a dual boot option where I can choose between my current XP or the Leapord.

Last time I tried installing leapord my XP partition disappeared for some reason and it was a big mess.

Need some good sure shot instructions that will help me successfully do this. Also I am not an expert...I can read through instructions but they need to be a little understandable.

Currently my laptop has 2 Partitions. (C - which has windows on it) and (D which has my documents and other misc stuff.)

Kindly help me out

I also lost a partition the first time I tried to install Leopard, it's why you must don't use the Leopard "Disk Utility" to create your Leopard partition but just for reformat an existing partition in MAC OS file system.

You have to create a partition for Leopard in FAT for exemple (it will be reformated during the install off Leopard so the format is not really important) with 10 GB at least.

After that use iAktos (for example) for installing Leopard and install Darwin Boot, to enable dual boot between Leopard & Windows.

I would try using the Kalyway Install DVD. I personally tried it and it worked like a charm. I only kept for a couple of days though because I have too many incompatible hardware.

any instructions on doing that darwin boot thing? I am sorry i dont know much about this stuff.

With the iAktos installation, you have a menu to Install Darwin_boot.

Does the Kalyway one have it? I have heard that works better with ibm's?

I"m pretty sure the kalyway cd does install darwin bootloader by default.

I got this version called Leo4All v2 from a torrrent site...apparently it is a good one. Any ideas about that one?

I use to dual boot Leopard a lot with I had my 80 gig hd but I gave up I got a 250 but I forgot how to fix the Vista partition. When the winload.exe error pops up I forgot what command to use on bootrec to fix that!!

I figured it out lol Ok I got mostly all my hardware working except the modem SVideo output Sleep and Broadcom NetXtreme and fingerprint reader.
