Leopard (OSX) on X61T
to start with the legal stuff, if i've bought a copy of leopard, and put an apple logo on my computer, this is arguably legal (look it up). but if moderators have a problem with this and want to delete it, i sincerely apologize.
ok, so im trying to put leopard on my x61t. im not overly concerned with the tablet features not working at the moment, im really just doing it as a toy.
i've used ultimate boot cd (on a thumb drive) to use a boot manager called grubin and used a usb version of knoppix live cd to do the cat command, see the howto here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=666267
so i've gotten to the point where i can get the installer to load, when done in verbose mode (press f8 on boot then use -v) it hangs and just repeats over and over again "Still waiting for root device". after doing some reading on this, i've discovered that it is a problem with sata drives, i've tried switching the bios to compatibility mode with no success.
my question is if anybody else is having this problem? has anybody else figured out a way around this? im considering buying an external dvd drive to see if it works that way, but would prefer not to waste my money if people say it doesnt work that way either.
thanks for any of your thoughts/ideas,
Ryan Davis

I don't really have any meaningful suggestions to help, but perhaps you could find more info in the "OS-X on a ThinkPad" forum?

Re: Leopard (OSX) on X61T
I'd really love to do this if it can be done on an x61t, I'm getting really irritated with WinDoze...
Re: Leopard (OSX) on X61T
I managed to install and dual boot OS X Leopard 10.5.7 via iatkos V7.
For X 61 Tablet specifc drivers, search Iinsanelymac.com. There is thread on X61 Tablet specific drivers.
There are several tutorial on dual boot Vista OS X. google all of the above.
The key take away for me is
backback using R&R
get the Vista Recovery Boot CD from neosmart ( just recovery portion of a vista) if you don't have a retail vista Disc.
get Easybcd which let you manupilate the Vista boot loader
Need to set the Vista Partition active after install iatkos V7
Need to use Vista recovery CD/DVD to repair Vista boot record
If vista fail to boot, R&R from backup
Use easybcd or bcdedit (command line) to add mac partition ( or use the Darwin bootloader inlcuded with iatkso).
I have not added X61 Tablet specifc drviers yet but 105.7 is up and running.
Currently searching for easy method to upgrade to snow leopard (have retail DVD) but due to dual boot on MBR disk, cannot do inline upgrade within 10.5.7
Best of luck!
