Any users with an R61?

Hey guys,

I run osx86 on my desktop (purchased parts to be most compatible), and now I'm looking to put it on my laptop.

I just ordered a new R61 with the following major things:

Intel Core 2 Duo (2.0ghz)
Intel GMA x3100 Graphics
ThinkPad a/b/g 802.11 card

Of course the first two are actually put into MacBooks, and I've read over at InsanelyMac that they work. I also noticed the Intel Wireless card does not have drivers, so I went with this ThinkPad mini-PCI card that seems to work fine under osx.

Basically my reason for posting here is this:

It *seems* that everything should work just fine and dandy with my system (from piecing together information here and there), but I'm curious if anybody has experienced installing on this setup.

Thanks!

Thought I would update this in case anybody ever looks for it.

Installed with 10.5.2 iAtkos r2.0

Video: Works perfect with x3100 drivers found on the disk (also available via Apple Graphics Update). Full QE and CI as well. Multiple monitor support.

Sleep *works* if you grab the Natit.kext and AppleIntelGMAX3100FB.kext from simcolor's pack.

WiFi: Got the Atheros card and it works perfectly after editing the Airport.kext

Computer functions well, but had no sound, nor does it have brightness/real battery controls. I'm keeping the computer as a dual-boot setup until the AD1984 has a working solution. Computer runs FAST and it functions great.

Try Atkosi 5. You need to use the 2nd optional kernel and add support for battery & speed step. Everything works but wireless, ethernet & sound. The sound can be fixed according to a few posts, I'm working on it right now. As far as the wireless goes, checkout zenders 1802 bios fix. It allows you to use any wireless card in your think pad. I bought a BRCM1020 (Broadcom 4311) for $11 bucks on ebay, it shows up as an airport card. You can also buy a wireless card direct from Lenovo (Atheros based) that requires no hack and shows up as a Airport card.

So I have an R61 with basically the same configuration as mulletman13 (with Atheros WiFi and X3100) except it has the 2.1Ghz Penryn Core 2 Duo. At my disposal I have (2) Macs and various external hard drives and enclosures/cables. I am sure a lot has changed in a couple of years since this thread was started. What is he best way to get OSX running on this machine? I am looking for a step by step installation process if one exists. I do have a vanilla OSX Snow Leopard disc.
