Hi there,

Well this is just a small brag post!

Just install Kalyway 10.5.2 on my Thinkpad X60s ( 1704-3DU)
so far everything work, with exception of my wifi network (Intel 802.11abg wireless)

the install was painless (installed it onto an external usb disk) now it´s just figuring out how this Mac os X works :D

have a nice weekend
(if any have a solution to the intel wifi network, I would be very happy.. thought I doubt it!)

Did you get the sound to work ?

The sound works out of the box on the X60t.

However, when I upgraded to 10.5.3, some stuff stopped working:

- no hibernation/standby
- no battery/ACPI support
- USB does not work as it should... (pen drives are not recognized)

The most disturbing is however... the lack of wireless... I wish someone did the driver for our 3945 card...

I'm blogging about my experience on my MacTabletPC Blog

Hi,
There are no working drivers for Intel Wireless Chips on OSx86.

If possible, get a Atheros (Thinkpad) Wireless card for your X60. It will work directly.

See my post here iATKOS 2.0i on Thinkpad T60p (2007-xxx)

Hi there,

Happy thanksgiving to all!! I recently installed Kalyway 10.5.2 to my X60s.
However, there is no sound. Could you please guide me how to make sound work?
What audio driver do I need? or should I installed updated with 10.5.3?

Many thanks,

Paul

I have a X60s and haven't been able to get sleep to work in 6 months. I just wanted to verify that you guys got your thinkpads to sleep and wakeup. Thanks

Never try sleep mode before. Just do it right now and it won't boot after sleep mode!!

Hi all,

Lenovo X60s works well with vanilla kernel and Guid boot record.

I used "iPC_OSx86_10_5_6_Universal_PPF5_Final" and selected Intel GMA950 for video, Intel pro 100/ve for LAN, AD1981 for audio, IOPCMCIA Family (not confirmed to work), PS/2 Keyboard Fix (without this you do not have a keyborad/mouse on startup), Intel ICHx SATA Drivers, LegacyAppleIntelPIIXATA, Patched USB Drivers, Tiger 802 kexts for wireless (if you have the Atheros chip) and Powermanagement Package.

Most things work "out the box". To the extent that you could call it a perfect install given the fact that it should not even boot on non Apple HW.. Atleast sleep is something that needs attention, but I do not even need it. It should be posible to fix and there is packages like shutdown/restart fix but as they can break the install I will leave it. Although it's not a pain to reinstall after something goes wrong. Compared to XP/Vista/7 anyway..

There is also Intel wifi drivers in this distro, but I have not tried them. Some X60s's use Intel. Iwi2200 worked in T43 really well with static IP so give them a try if you got them chips.

Remember to buy the OS please if you like it. And while your at it, buy the real Mac HW as well.

BR,
- Waltsu

PS. Go the ThinkWiki and check what you got under the hood before you try the install. And when you get to the Leopard desktop, use 0SX86 Tools to see the PCI devices or let it install the kexts for you (there is an option for that too). Ususally the automatic install wont work, but use the text listing it produces to google around and you will find "drivers" for most things.

Hi,

battery life for my X60T (8cell battery) is with iDeneb 1.4 around 3.30 to 4 hours (4.30 displayed after booting up). It was 3 hours with iDeneb 1.3.

Vista shows me after booting up around 4.45 battery life, I guess it will end up with 4 hours...

But this is not measured exactly...

Regards,
seb

your signature advertise:
X60T 6363-C7G with Atheros abg
R50 1829 7RG
can you explain more like what you have to do with Zender help so other know how much work they have to do.
I see you communicate with getsandy that also say to have wireless work "If possible, get a Atheros (Thinkpad) Wireless card for your X60. It will work directly."
It will work directly bigger lie in the world
who care about battery what so important you can always buy another that all
WIRELESS is what is important I dare you and getsandy to come clean in this matter

Hi teladoy,

ok, I will try to help you. My X60T was not equipped with a Atheros card, so I had to buy one. I looked out for a Thinkpad compatible and found one on ebay. I also cared for OSX compatibility, but in that case it did not work out directly. But as I've followed this guide: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index. ... opic=87574 I just did what's explained there:
Wireless
Do you have the ThinkPad Wireless MiniPCIE card? If so -- you have Atheros, and you're ready for wireless! Have the Intel 3945 card? You're screwed! Get on eBay and pick up the Atheros controller, you can search for Thinkpad wireless atheros, or by FRU, which could be 39t5578, 39t0499, or 40Y7026. I had to replace mine, and it's not terrible. Remove all of the keyboard screws and the bottom half of the "board" screws on the bottom of the machine, lift up the palmrest, and it's right in front of you. I will not be held responsible if you damage anything. wink.gif Please note that other cards, such as the Dell 1490 series, will NOT work with your ThinkPad. Lenovo, in their infinite wisdom, has a white list of PCI IDs that they will allow as a network controller. Putting that card in your system will just give you an error message asking you to get it out of that laptop.

To get your Atheros card working, pop into a terminal, and go to /System/Library/Extensions/IO802.11Family.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AirPortAtheros.kext/Contents. Edit Info.plist with vi, nano, pico, or your editor or choice. Go down to IOPCIMatch, and under that, with all the <string> entries, add <string>pci168c,1014</string>. Save and exit, and manually load it by entering "kextload /System/Library/Extensions/IO802.11Family.kext" You'll be able to head into System Preferences, Network, and watch as it adds an AirPort option. Hit the 'Turn AirPort On' button, and you're in business.

If you can't get it to turn on, go to "Advanced", and click some checkbox, like "Disconnect when user logs out". Hit Okay, and hit Apply at the main Networking window. The Apply button will turn your card on, and it will work from then on out. Have fun!
For me the ID is not 1014, I had to look it up in in the Windows device manager. After inserting it, my wireless worked. I've backed up the kext and insert it with kexthelper everytime I reinstall OSX.

One thing: I've noted that after the latest install the card does just connect with B standard - don't know whether it was like that all the time...

I hope that does help you.

10.5.2 is out of date ... my advice would be : you have an almost working hackintosh ... hence you can use this method to install 10.6.4 (on another drive) and then we will be able to help you ...

For wifi ... monitor this page intel 3945 driver is almost complete !
